System requirements
ChessPairings Desktop supports Windows 10 and Windows 11 on x64 computers. The Store package includes the .NET runtime and the bundled pairing and tiebreak engines required by the app. It does not install PHP, Java, a local web server or a browser component.
Install from Microsoft Store
Open the ChessPairings.org product page in Microsoft Store and select Install. Windows verifies the signed package and creates the Start menu entry. The app stores its working database under your Windows profile, outside the installation directory.
Updates
Store installations receive approved updates through Microsoft Store. Leave automatic app updates enabled, or open Library in Microsoft Store and select Get updates. Tournament databases are preserved when the application package is updated.
Check the version
The installed version appears under the ChessPairings name in the left rail. When reporting a problem, include this version and the Windows version. Before a major update, create a backup from Backup and restore.
If an update does not appear
- Close ChessPairings Desktop.
- Open Microsoft Store and sign in with the account used to install apps.
- Open Library, select Get updates, and wait for package checks to finish.
- Restart Windows if the previous application process is still locked.
